Wednesday, October 1 - Day 30. The weather in Grants Pass, OR this morning was sunny and cool. We left Grants Pass around 9:30AM, headed for Crescent City, CA. We crossed into California about an hour later, at 10:30AM (see picture, above), and arrived in Crescent City at about 12:30PM. After a leisurely lunch, we decided to continue down the coast to Klamath, arriving here at about 2:00PM. After getting settled, we drove out along the Pacific Coast and took a few pictures of the surf, the rocks and the waves. It was not a very good afternoon for pictures, as the sun was masked by high, thin clouds and the ocean water looked gray.
The above is a picture of a camper(?) we saw in the Wal-Mart parking lot in Grants Pass, OR. The top front is a basket-type structure, in which he has bicycles. Lord only knows what the house-like structure at the rear is!
Tomorrow morning, if we get out early enough, we will travel south by car, about 15 - 20 miles,
to check out another of the natural wonders of this area. Tomorrow afternoon, we will leave
Klamath, heading further south toward Santa Rosa and the Napa Valley (Wine Country!!!). We will probably stop along the way, then continue into Santa Rosa on Friday morning.
Stay tuned tomorrow for more. I think I may have to change the BLOG title to "Movin' South",
or something, as we are about as far WEST as we can get.
